Scaling instanced objects affects the normals of those objects and by extention the shading

Description

On normal renders this decreases the brightness of the mesh depending on the scale

Here is a picture of a set of cubes rendered with debug,N

This oneliner path fixes the issue for me

Conceptiually I also think it makes no sense to scale normals with the objToWorld.
