Hello,
This is my Christmas present for you.
I have made special builds for Windows 64bit and Linux 64bit of my YafaRay-E development version. This version will become soon the upcoming Release v2.0.0, but as I have made many structural changes to the code, I think it's better to publish a "preview" first, so you can test it and give me feedback, as I expect quite a few bugs to happen. Please don't use it yet for any serious/production work
At the moment I consider this code still unstable and I may need to keep making structural changes depending on your feedback. Once this first "preview" phase finishes in the next few weeks, I will consider it ready for Release and I will update the source code and publish a full release for the usual operating systems.
There are many changes and improvements (I suppose they will be accompanied by bugs as well, hopefully not too many). The most significant changes are:
* Render Passes
* Render Views/Stereo/MultiView
* Special render passes for Masking objects (and their shadows!), so you can make interesting compositions with real life objects.
* Texture RAM optimization. Hopefully you will see a significant reduction in RAM usage when using JPG, PNG, TIFF, TGA textures
* Noise control parameters
* New Self-Shadow bias system, more automatic and hopefully more robust than before (per triangle, no longer depends on the total scene size).
* A couple small speed improvements.
... and many other changes I will try to describe in more detail soon.
I'm very tired today, as it's quite late, but I hope to upload some examples as well over the next days. Please feel free to experiment with it
