pCon.planner 6.3 Beta

Post Wed Dec 08, 2010 12:04 pm

Hi guys,
I found this program lately (http://pcon-planner.com/en/download.html), looks pretty cool.
Render settings look like in yafaray :D
What do you think about it?,

every method /DL , PM, PATH, BIDI/ is just raytrace...every result looks same , nothing different... just a bad dream....
Workflow looks like Office 2010, working with Google Warehouse /Sketchup ?/ and rendering setting is same like 0.1.2Beta2.....

from the gallery

"...The YafaRay-Raytracing-Engine has been integrated into pCon.planner 6.3 which now offers high-quality picture renderings for every user."

maybe I'm wrong but I don't think this is good

Of course...When Yafaray coders and developers know about this integration, its good news....Why not GI...?...its great fot interiors and architecture...

Hi

i'm one of the developers of pCon.planner and yes we are using yafaray 0.1.2 beta.
We mainly use direct lighting because it is easier to setup for our customers.
Thats why i integrated this feature into yafaray: http://www.yafaray.org/community/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3389

But GI is also possible. I attachend an image which was created with photon mapping.

Oh and we also integrated animation rendering:
here are two examples:

http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=466347449935

We think yafaray is a great renderer. A big thanks to the community :D

Hi, I'm trying to develop a front-end for Yafaray in Windows, but I cannot compile the source code of the engine core (have tried but I get only crashes after the first plugin initialization).

I need one of this two solution:

- To have the full Visual Studio project (>=VS 2005)
- To have the "yafraycore.lib" for VS

Please Zapology help me!

No it shouldn't be random :?
I just made a quick test and i didn't had any problems. I basically switched from direct lighting to photon mapping.

I understand, but it s look like AO - with photon map.....with no lights - just black single color background is result like raytrace, not just black window...and this ,,AO layer" break my PM composition...any tips?

/ AO is turn off, of course

Hi there,

@Zapology
Thanks for developing this great programm :-)
I wonder if it's possible that you can give me some guidelines to set up the lights
in Pconplanenr model while using photon mapping?

I'd be thankfull for evry hint :-)

thx

Hi,
this post is dated, but I would have needed the help of Zapology to know exactly how it was to achieve this type of rendering with pcon.planner and Yafaray engine.
I used the direct light and then the photon filter but I am very far from getting renderings like this: download/file.php?id=4008&mode=view

The simple rendering photon with yafaray does not give me a rendering like here too:
download/file.php?id=4024&mode=view

What are the parameters in pcon.planner for renderings of this quality?
I did not find any help at pcon.planner or anywhere else. By force I think not to use it because I spent so many weeks to test my renderings, it took me a lot of time.
A simple rendering with a ball and a piece, impossible to have quality, with the filter photon map I have the angles of my room in over-exposure as if it were neon lights.
If someone had something to practice with a realistic model of rendering next it would be great.
Thank you
sharkz
