Simple, nice and clean - I like this approach.

Only the handle shows some specular artifacts (check your material) and the chair fabric could use some bump, I think...

What rendering method&settings did you use? The rug is very nice - could you share your secrets? :D

_Mo_ Thanks, I am glad you like it.

Indeed, I have to continue testing with the gold material; in another context with different lighting does not cause artifacts.

The material of the chair is only a color + noise procedural texture on bump. I must continue testing to improve it.

The carpet is made with the displace modifier, a finely cube subdivided + subsuf simple. Only color on diffuse (two materials) and a bitmap for displacement and bump.

_Mo_ Friend, no secrets, only trial and error, time and hobby. I am slowly learning things, I sometimes betrays the haste.

Lighting is a sun slanted through a side window and a area light in the window. To the right of the camera and out of focus a plane emitter to illuminate the right side more and try to simulate the sun bounces.

Photon mapping.

Greetings.

Thank you, Tony, for your clarifications.

I used the same approach for carpets (displacement & bump), but never managed to make such a nice one, thats why I asked.

Keep improving it!

hi,
nice image.if,i may suggest, image needs adding some "interest" thru colour variation or tonal contrast(may be increase sunlit area).white wall could be whiter.

Hi Rusted:

I understand the boredom that could cause to you the contemplation of my scene.

I have wanted it to be a simple scene.

It makes me peace, stability, a closed door that is there in the center, with no light behind, without emphasis.

All a bit flat but everything in place, hygienic and natural.

It is, for me, suggestive but not attachment (I have not put any object as 'a book or magazine', 'pad', 'ashtray', etc).

Art is so, as varied as the moods.

Thanks, Rusted, for expressing their feelings.

Greetings.

Tony

Nice... Sorry for the simple question, but what does your bump/displace bitmap look like?

Hi dparkinson:

Not if I understand your question.

First I UV mapped with this texture carpet and scaling the UV map to put the real grain size. A texture mapped in blender that I have given the name 'displace'.

In the scroll switch put the name 'displace' for your use to move the mesh.

But also in the nor channel with a value of 0.03 to try to give more realism.

Answer I your question?

Greetings
