Thanks darktide, much improved in -r416, but I think it is still not quite right.
Coated Glossy and Shinydiffuse looks good:

Maybe this usage was not anticipated, but blend mapping glass materials just looks odd:

I think I found a temporary fix.

I have been trying to texture a partially glazed vase. With a blend value of 0.0 it looks like this:

Changing the blend value to 0.001 gives this:
glossy.png

...but the glossy material seems quite flat.

Coated Glossy looks good:

...and glass is still rather odd:

Can somebody update 0.1.2 for windows?
link is too old

Hi guys, thx for all the feedback, i made a win32 build for you to test but, due to the need of testing stability in the exporter and in YafaRay itself this version can NOT be installed along with 0.1.1, no yafaray version should be installed prior to the installation of this one... sorry for the inconvenience...

OTOH, stoneage: could you please post the blends of your tests?... sorry for asking but the workload at my job (one's got to eat sometimes :mrgreen: ) is over the roof right now and i don't have head to try to reproduce this issues

now for the IES making is there some tut on how to do it ?


i must say that i already had an IES viewer
but good to know there are others too

now my suggestion was more in the sense of having this inside blender independant of other outside applications in the form of a script would be great to see something like that
and also may be be able to see the pattern in 3D inside blender which would be even better

and if i can give a help after i will be glad to do so

i like when you use blender and not have to rely on other soft outside of blender!

This build is 45 sec faster then 0.1.1!

Sorry darktide, that was indeed rather selfish of me. :oops:

Further testing suggests the first image may be related to having textures applied to the blended materials. With any one texture applied it renders badly, while with none applied it looks better but is still not correct. Blending glass materials is also still problematic and the blend value = 0.0 still has the same result. I have simply zipped up the whole file in a body bag, I hope this does not cause you any extra work.

Great work!.... no more black dots! :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I know it is under development but I was playing with the new rough glass material and i've found some issues.
Visible lights are rendered black when behind a rough glass material.
And rough glass cast shadows as a solid face.

Could someone update the osx build also( perhaps jens?).
Nevertheless i have the feeling that the 012 build is faster then the 011 one.

Just to clarify, is not Darkstyle's branch, in any case could be DarkTide's branch and not all of the code is mine, there is also subcomandante's work there so is a YafaRay Team Experimental branch :D and the url is wrong, the right one is:

YafaRay Experimental branch 429 for Ubuntu Karmic (9.10) 64 Bits

Ok after clearing that, thanks paulo_gomes for the deb package!!! :D

Oh i forgot, just an update on progress about the issue reported by cyberlecs, this code is not yet available but is the progress so far on rough glass:
