First Yafaray Interior

Post Wed Oct 17, 2012 6:24 pm

Hello,
I'm new on this forum, and quite new as well in Blender and Yafaray. To be honest it is my first render made in Yafaray. Perviously I used only Blender Internal. I tried to use Cycles but I'm afraid that my computer is too slow for it. Yafaray is the best solution for me.
Whole scene was modeled by me in Blender 2.63 from scratch and rendered in Yafaray.
I will be grateful for the constructive comments.

Regards for all,
paulina.

Beautiful!

Only thing that catch my eye is the floor, is has a weird pattern repeating a little to often.
Maybe another floor texture would look better.
Other than that everything looks great.

Cheers

Hello guys,
thanks for your nice comments. :)

*Samo- I used photon maping method to make this render. In scene I have one area lamp in "window" which imitate sun. And one area lamp behind camera.

*Jakerlund- Yes, I know :D I didn't know how to unwarp this floor to achive realistic look. So it looks horrible. I will improve this in other work. I practice this at the moment.

Nice colors and awesome image!

Only the wall catches my attention. The concrete looks a bit like the same tile has been copied over. I guess you wanted to imitate the shuttering boards with the structure, but the diffuse map makes the wall a bit looking like a poster. But that is a detail.

Thanks Sandstorm. I made at first a big texture of concrete but than I wanted something more like a wallpaper or panels so I did this. :)

Hi all,
Resuming an old thread, because few people asked me how I made a wooden floor in this visualization. So I made a tutorial about making a wooden floor.
I made some progress from the first picture to the last one, so I hope that my experience with making a wooden floor will help at least one person.
I used Yafaray for this tutorial so that's the main reason why i'm puting it here.

Hope somebody will find it helpful :)

Hello Paulina,

Thank you for sharing your awesome scenes and the tutorials!! I actually followed your tutorial, and I have a quick question about the lighting setup. My render looks very very bright when the Area light power setting at 3.00. What other render settings should I look at?

I am using Blender 2.65 and Yafaray 0.1.2 beta.

Hi digimonk,

thanks for Your comment and I'm sorry it took me so long to answer.
If your scene is to bright with this settings, You can easily decrease power of an area lamp. Try to set up it to power of 1 and check if there is a difference.
You can also check what settings you have in "world" panel. Maybe Your scene is to bright because IBL button is enable or maybe your area licht is too big or too close to your scene.
You can post here some print screen. It will be usefull to find the problem.
