Stair

Well, this is my first complete render with Yafaray.
All the post pro was done in Blender.
The second render still has noise, but had to terminate it.
Coments and critics are welcome

EDIT (12 Sept 2011):I was asked if I could give the blend file, so I'm doing.
The file is for the Blender2.59/Yafaray 0.1.2 version, includes the node setup but dont include the textures for the floor, because they are too heavy. :?
And the windows don't have a glass, the next project will be more realistic 8)

The first one still has some noise too, but I'm not complaining, they both look great.

The second one must have taken a few minutes to render :)

Wow- Great!
How long it did need to render?

The only point of critic I have is, that I find the floor tiles a bit to reflective.

Thanks for the coments.
@HHS: yes the floor has too much mirror reflection, i'll keep that in the next time. :)

The first was rendered in 7:30 hours :x and the second in 4:40 hours.
I'm pretty novice using Yafaray, it took more time that i was thinking, but the result is acceptable :D

Congrats. Great light. I also want to use blender for my renderings. I want to get out of C4D.
How did you map the stair pavement texture? UVunwrap of cube mapping?

Thanx, and congrats again.

Thanks for the coments and suggestions :)

I'm using Blender+Yafaray 0.1.2 for 64 bits http://graphicall.org/108

How did you map the stair pavement texture? UVunwrap of cube mapping?

The texturing is UV unwrapped. I noticed that a basic unwrap looked to odd at the edge of the steps, because the same tiles where spread along the step, and it's easy to find the pattern, so it have to be split and move some uvs to have more variety on the texture.
I think it's too much fuss about something simple, but I saw a pattern, and did not like that. : x
It was modelled in meters, so the texturing wasn't a nightmare.

Regards :)

Thanx for the explanation. I normally work with big models with hundreds of faces. I feel that uvunwrap is just not the way to go there. Do you face this problema often?

Excellent image. I haven't seen thing like that made with Yafaray in a long time. Could you share glass setup?

@rucativava :Rarely I have problems, the UV unwrap is only for specific cases :)

Hi Alejandro!
Tanks for sharing your experience with us.

I am in need of help. I tried to use the same version of Blender + YafaRay that you used for your image but can not apply textures to objects. Image-based textures and some procedural textures do not work. I've tried other versions of blender + YafaRay and got the same problem. If anyone has been there and has a solution please post here.

Good renders for everyone!
