Yafaray Material Preview Scene

Post Sat Mar 27, 2010 6:39 pm

this a scene I made for material test with Yafaray... (because the only one available right now was made for yafray)

1.- All the paths are relative so there is no need to unpack textures, just unzip and open it with Blender
2.- The scene is scaled 1 BU = 1 mt
3.- For test with Yafaray you only have to set the parameters for the material named "Material" (yeah... not a smart name ) in yafaray material Panel
4.- The model is unwrapped: you can apply textures to UV coordinates in Blender panel without change anything
5.- The model includes color bands, text, and bubbles for test transparent materials
6.- The model includes textures for environment and surrounding objects for test reflective materials and scale reference
7.- The default Method of Lighting is DL but PM work ok with the same light settings

I hope you like it... enjoy!

Note: The file was saved with Yafaray 0.1.2 (experimental) and I'm not sure if the render settings are available for 0.1.1 main line. If that's your case this are the settings by default in the scene

Method of Lighting: Direct Lighting
Raydepth = 18
Gamma In = Gamma = 2.2
AApasses = 8 AAsamples=1 AAinc=1 Threshold = 0.01
Filter = Mitchell Pixelwidth = 1.5

Can we create a library for YafaRay?. Every user create a material to put in a database...

Well, I have a couple of materials here, using the old MP and YaR 0.1.1. Maybe 5, I can't remember. But would be nice have a Virtual HD with material.

In Vray/Blender, I did it. Link: http://vray.cgdo.ru/forum/viewtopic.php ... b038cf106e

I share my account in 4Shared, so everyone can download these .blend files. I am admin on blender.com.br (Blender community on Brazil), so I can try to encourage staff to collaborate with some materials. Well, not everyone uses YafaRay there, in fact, few people, but I can try when I have some free time.

Best,
Victor.

I can confirm that settings are not available for release 0.1.1.
