Yafaray IES lights

Post Tue Sep 13, 2011 9:55 pm

it's an old material but still useful... some time ago Aspen and I made a small package of IES files to be distributed with yafaray.... the original idea was to create our own ies files to avoid copyright infringement for uploading and distribute the files with yafaray.
the license is CC BY-SA 3.0 so .... Use it, share it... I hope you like it

Hmm... nice but it won`t be better to use some free soft for IES light? Like IES Creator by Karba ?
Then you can create any light :D

you still have to save the lamp to an ies file to use it

Hi all!
i found that the asymmetrical ies profiles don't work properly in yafaray.

Hello all!
I want to simulate a bike light (self-made), by providing my own ies file.
The angular light distribution is vertically-asymmetric.
I have not used Yafa yet, but made few steps from tutorial on Blender (a lot to explore..).
Before I spend too much time.. can Yafa reliably simulate asymmetric lights?

Hello,

I've seen there is a software in Internet but I've never used it, so no idea if it will work or not with YafaRay, but it's worth a try!

http://jamiecardoso-mentalray.blogspot. ... s-for.html

It looks like it can be downloaded from here?

Hi, I just found out to resize the IES light effect, by using spot light parameters.
