Hi all, I'm new to this forum and I joined your community because I really love Yafaray. So far I've always used the Blender Internal because of some of his features like particles rendering, SSS, ... But I did recently some tests with Yafaray and it's indeed a great render engine. I'm currently learning it, and I'd like to participate to this funny contest. Probably I won't be able to pass the midterm evaluation, but I'm oppening this thread mainly for feedbacks on my work.

I've decided to render a stick insect since they're my favourites insects. I worked a lot on the modelling today:

I hope I'll have time the next three days to make something quite decent.
I'm sorry if my english is sometimes a bit weird.

Thanks guys, I spent a lot of time at unwrapping the model, probably the most booring thing when it comes to deal with organic shapes. I started a bit of texturing, I like to paint the model a bit in the 3d viewport before adding the details in gimp:

Today I made an armature to pose my model, I've got now a good idea of the scene I'll try to achieve. I finished also the rough texturing stage, now I'll just have a lot of fun with gimp to paint all the small details. :D

As you can see, the scene and the lighting are really rough so far but I'm not finished with them.
