Yafaray 1.5 jpg textures problem

Post Sun Jul 28, 2013 1:14 pm

After finally being able to use Yafaray 1.5 and blender 2.67 in Ubuntu Studio 13.04.
My problem is that i am unable to use any jpg texture in Yafaray. They are simply not shown in material editor and renders. Everything Ok with png files though.

Any other user having the same issue?.

Even the preview of the texture where we make the texture selection in blender is black with jpg.

Thank you for your attention.

Problem was solved by updating Blender to 2.68. I don't know why.

From Stoneage build:
"I know some users have trouble using .jpg textures:-

Ubuntu and presumably Mint, are using libjpeg.so.8 as the default jpeg lib now, and not libjpeg.so.62. The only sure way I know of currently to resolve this is to build Blender with support for both. (Until I figure how to compile Yafaray with support for both). Ubuntu users can use Blender builds from the IRIE Shinsuke ppa, which does, as far as I know, support both jpeg libs."

Is no correct, but other temporary solution is; not use jpg textures.
Greetings..

Folowing your advice and using the version from IRIE Shinsuke ppa the problem was solved to me. Thank you very much for your help. I think it will solve the same question to everyone who is in the same situation.
