Qt GUI interface?

Post Sat Oct 24, 2015 12:41 pm

Hello,

I'm curious about the "gui" parts of the source code. It seems that somebody inserted a Qt gui in YafaRay, but I cannot see where is it getting compiled or how to use it?

I cannot find anything in the documentation either.

From looking into the source code, it looks like a very rudimentary interface with little or no functionality, but I could be wrong (?).

Is anybody actually using this, or in a 3rd party software?

If this "Qt-Gui" is old and not developed/useful, I believe we should just remove it from YafaRay to remove such a big dependency (Qt4) and make YafaRay easier to maintain/build.

Please let me know your feedback/thoughts about this.

It was used to launch YafaRay renders in Blender pre 2.50 versions. It had some cool features like opening XML scenes. Unless some exporter uses it I think it does not make sense maintaining it anymore.
