Hi David,

I've tested th network rendering on windows and seems to work, but is it possible to get some feedback of the contribution to the final image of each node?

Thanks for the new release. David, I responded to your post in the Wings3D forum.

All other versions of YafaRay, old or new, have always worked with Wings3d. For some reason I am getting an error with this new release. Everything seems to work from loading plugins to rendering passes. Then there is an error in the end with no image rendered. See final info below:

Hello,

Playing with YafaRay v3.0.0-beta: "radioactive" material. It also has "iridescence" (changes color at some viewing angles). This material uses the improved blend texture, contrast/brightness and color ramps.

It's made with *only* shiny diffuse and procedural textures (plus the HDRI kitchen_probe.hdr)

Yes, it's expected as many changes were made. Please will you send me the xml generated by wings plugin?

I have to install wings3d (never used it before) and learn how the plugin works. I would suggest having one plugin for yafaray v3 separated from other forks like The Bounty, as both projects have been diverging so much.

What is the best way to send you an xml file?

Yes, "TheBounty" plugin would be kept separate if it is ever created. I only reference that in the plugin just in case anyone wants to play with SSS. The last version RC4 of "The Bounty" does not work as well for SSS so I use RC3.

Do you think separate plugins are needed for Official YafaRay and your version?

I know you added a lot of features but it is strange that it got so far in the process before it stopped working.

Installing Wings3D and getting it working is very much easier than Blender. Simply download and install it.

To configure the YafaRay plugin simply go Edit > Plugin Preferences > YafaRay and then browse to the yafaray-xml.exe and browse to the Yafaray Plugins Path folder. Then add a sphere or other and File > Render > YafaRay.

Hello, oort.

I think I found the problem. The render params badge is enabled by default and it's causing issues with Wings3D because the final image is bigger than it expects.

To solve this, in the YafaRay plugin preferences -> options set this:
-pbp none

That will remove the badge and render correctly.

By the way, now YafaRay v3.0.0 is the "official" YafaRay. I'm now an official YafaRay developer (that's why I removed the -E "experimental" from the name).

Please let me know if this works for you, I was able to render without problems doing that.

Thanks, that was it. I never had problems with the old settings badge. Strange that it is a problem with the new settings badge.

Congratulations on becoming an official developer. It is overdue and very much deserved.

I will start testing some of my example scenes now.

The new badge is non-invasive. That means it's printed outside the render, increasing the size of the image respect to what was requested for the render itself.

So, we need to implement this properly in the plugin to handle the extra size correctly when it's enabled.

I have tested my YafaRay example files with the new release of YafaRay. Most files are working just as they did before. Some will need a bit of tweaking. It looks like you have changed the way background color is exported. Background color (Sunsky, Darktide Sunsky, Constant, Gradient, Image, HDRI) seem to not be working with Wings3D when using your new release. HDRI background images are not reflecting on glass. Did you change some of the parameter names? Just wondering what changed. If we can figure it out, I think Micheus would be willing to make the needed code changes.

Also, just noticed that Alpha background is not working.
