YafaMax 3ds Max to Yafaray exporter

Hi all,
i'm moure and with hedphelym we just started working on YafaMax (3ds Max to Yafaray exporter). We are the "team" that made also LuxMax (3dsmax to Luxrender and SmalluxGpu exporter).
The exporter will be opensource. We are happy that we begun this :D , and hope that we will have results to show you soon since from what ive seen around latest 3ds Max exporter dated back to 2008 or something.

looking forward to get this exporter running.
(I'm "hedphelym").

I like this renderer a lot.

first we'll do a xml scene exporter, then look at full renderer integration into 3dsmax.

Stigatle coded succesfully yesterday the mesh export, here is a simple result with a teapot export ;)

Are you using yafaray API or rendering by XML file?

I just started coding the materials and render settings output, so in the next days we will have some "cooler" images to share, heh

For the time beeing we develop in a personal repository, when we have something working to release we could add our exporter to the yafaray repository or something so as anyone willingly to help can do it :)

EDIT:

at first we will code an xml exporter, then we will try to use the api for full integration. The mesh export is allready coded as a c++ plugin so its really quick.
To use the renderers api for full integration will be something new for us , so it will take time, thats why we started with the basic xml exporter to have things rolling and then we will go for it. For that we could use some help from you guys :wink:

A small update :wink:
now rendering is launched automatically when you press export.
In developing is texture support, more lights (now only background and spot lights is ready), better mesh export with uv coords and smooth value, all render settings (photon mapping and direct lighting is ready)

Small update , uvs now work and started coding on textures export.
Test bellow with diffuse and bump maps.
