YafaRay site Analytics 2010

Post Sat Jan 01, 2011 4:18 pm

Hi there

As a conclusion of the year 2010, in the coming days we will publish two pieces of information related to the YafaRay Project. One of them is the site analytics, the other is the SPI annual report about the finances of the project.

We have released a document with general information about the number of visits, type and source of these visits.

I hope you find this information interesting. The site did in 2010 581,396 visits, which is about 48500 visits a month, which is a 34.64% more than in 2009.

The first source of visits is the U.S.A. , followed by France and Germany.

Hey thanks, those are interesting.

Nice to see so many people visiting the user guide, and a 30% increase in visits overall is surely encouraging :)

In the report, I believe it is significative the amount traffic coming from BRIC countries, particularly from Russia and Brazil.

Apart from the USA, YafaRay is particularly strong in Europe (Germany, Italy, France and Poland); I believe it is thanks to yafaray users posting great stuff in local forums (Gabich, Yaspen, Mookie, etc).

On the other hand, I wish YafaRay was stronger in the UK, Mexico, India and China.

A thing I don't quite understand yet is the fact that most visits come in from search engines, and notice that one of the most searched terms is 'yafaray blender 2.5', so that's a thing people are definitely looking foward to.
