I'm really glad to hear this. This will make something of yafaray, alright. And I think it's very good as it is. I was wondering if the ability to render in pases could be a project? I mean it's really worth it right? The amount of flexibility you get through it?

That's great news!

So, how is then decided which features will be worked on? This depends on the people who apply to the project and their wishes / expertise or is the final decision made by the current developers and maintainers of Yafaray?

It depends on students applying and the ideas they want to work on. If we get a lot of proposals there will be a selection process to adjust the number of students to our real capacity of mentoring them,

We will announce which students and projects are selected when the process is finished, on April 26.

Dear YafaRay users

If you're are studying in an university or you have the proper contacts, can you please spread the word in the Computer Sciences department about GSoC and YafaRay? We are intereste in CS departments running 3D rendering and raytracing programs. Thank you for your collaboration.

As we all know Google Summer of Code is only a global program that offers student developers who wants to write code them selves and want to develop there courier. Students had some awesome projects filter through here.
