There is any way to do "only Shadow Material"?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your hard work with this great renderer.

I was wondering if there is a easy way to set up a "only shadow material" like in the blender's internal. I was thinking in a way to achieve it:

Rendering the animation with a plain Background color for the shadows, then render a matte with the object and then apply the matte and the layer with no matte underneath in a multiply mode, and the video underneath this layer. It's going to be a lot of time consuming and I need to render twice the animation(the normal sequence and the matte).

Anyone haves a better way to do that?

Thanks again,

renric.

The short answer is: no, there isn´t :(

This kind of material is quite useful for architectural visualization, and few people has asked for it here in the forum (me included): http://www.yafaray.org/node/160

I imagine one big problem about this feature it ´s Yafaray´s lack of any similar shader that could be used for "only shadow" material.

At the moment, no one has said if it would be (or not) a shader like that in the future.

Greetings

sorry didnt read the links but for just shadows in Direct Lightning maybe a glass with IOR 1 and fake shadows does the trick?
