Is there a way to donate $ to Yaf(a)ray?

I'd like to contribute $ to this project. The renderer is already quite impressive and the devs are adding features at a solid rate. You guys merit remuneration for your efforts.

I suggest a Paypal button on the front page or some equivalent.

Thanks for that. There is currently no way to donate to the YafaRay project due to the missing legal basis for that, the technical side is unfortunately not the main problem. We are currently discussing the best way to set this stuff up, so if you can could hold on to your money a bit longer, it would be much appreciated. ;)

I second that motion. ;)
Yafaray deserves our support and many of us would be more than willing to contribute.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your support. The YafaRay Team wants to do the right thing and acepting donations is only possible if the YafaRay project uses a legal structure to support economic operations.

We have explored several posibilities, and the most realistic scenario and probably the most compatible with the culture of this project is a non-profit association of members, such as the KDE e.V. -

It is probably a bit too much ample structure for us, and we realise It should mean an opportunity for the YafaRay project, rather than a hassle.

Anyway, as soon as the User's guide is finished and we take some deserved holidays, we will decide whether to go or not for it. Stay tunned.

PD: It does not mean that every YafaRay user or forum member should be member of the YafaRay Association. It means that a core group of commited people, mostly YafaRay Team members and some users, would keep on running a non-profit organization that represents the YafaRay Project in legal and financial matters. There would be an annual fee for association members btw.
