interesting your answer on sun color

but light srouce are not cenecessarely sun lamp or equivalent

it could any other source of light

hope this is taken into considetaiton for the new IES lamp

i have to search more in my notes for IES for the color rendering of lamps

but id o remember that some of the lights sources have some purple
but it's tru it relatively low normally execpt for some old Mercury lamps which may give a lot
more ultraviolet and be dangerous to look at

but in any case there should be a little violet at the end
i do igree it's does have to be very wide at the end of the rainbow

i'm certain that other poeple who would like to experiemnt with this would agree in some case that some violet should be present in some light source
may be not the sum but other IES lamp

Thanks for your feedback

another detail here

not certain how the spectrum is done for refraction but seems to give a good approximation to the rainbow effect

but as i learn in another thread seems that yafaray is base on RGB values only
there is not way to specify the color spectrum of light source as such

but the raindbow effect is nice enough !

this is a good example of what can be done with refraction in yafaray

Thanks guys

The rainbow effect is just "dispersion of sunlight"...

there is not way to specify the color spectrum of light source as such

I suppose that only one (simple) model of dispersion is implemented into YafaRay and is not possible to modify it by the user.

I am very new to blender.

I have download the prism file below, however when I try to render it on my blender software I only see black. Are there some sort of mods, or something that I need to do to see the light?
