Use YafaRay to render this scene.

Benchmark scenes should not be altered from the default configuration, only 'threads' parameter in the 'Settings' section, accordingly with your system specifications.

Disable and turn of all programs not necessary to benching: screensaver, Virus checkers, P2P, Firewalls, Messenger etc.

You can see your render time in the Blender back terminal (overall rendertime). Besides, the terminal will tell you what yaf(a)ray version are you using.

In your report please specify:
  • YafaRay version
  • Processor specifications (please state if overcloked and maximun frequency used)
  • Number of threads used
  • RAM memory specifications
  • OS
  • Render time
  • Notes

Yafaray is compiling now as we speak. However, with a tiny bit of knowledge about benchmarks, I suggest a bunch of Extremely-High-Res textures, to test the speed at which the RAM can be accessed.

My results. :D

4 Threads: 03:35.77
3 Threads: 04:26.12
2 Threads: 06:05.23
1 Thread : 11:46.93

Yafray Revision 201

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300

OCZ Platinum DDR2-800 CL4

Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04

Notes: My Core 2 Quad was overclocked to 3.075ghz, my Ran is overclocked to 820 Mhz instead of 800 mhz, and...I am using a Leadtek 9600GT. I didn't disable emerald and compiz fusion, so the GUI itself took 2% cpu, or 8% of 1 core.

I'm quite proud of my results :)

I beat the Q6600 :D
