Thank you for the new build.

It works so far, but I also got every time the message with the missing jpeg.dll.

I deinstalled Blender and all add ons completely, cleaned up the registry, installed every thing again, but still I got this message...

But other then that message, everything looks good so far.

Again, thank you for this build!

Hi DarkTide,

I have Administrator rights both on my local machine and on the company's network (Domain Admin); on the Blender (zipped) installation folder and everything below it I set the rights on all folders and files to read/write, so no limitations on that. About other Yafaray installations question, the way I run Blender inside a controlled environment is to copy the zipped version and then create these additional folders inside the [intallation path]\2.72\ directory:

\autosave
\config
\cache
\temp

In this way everything is under control and nothing outside the [installation path] is taken into consideration. The last step is to set the above \temp directory in the Preferences File settings.

You can verify it by generating the System Info from the Blender's Help menu, and this is it (I removed non relevant text) for Blender 2.72b official release (Hash: 9e963ae):

Python:
============================================

version: 3.4.1 (default, Aug 29 2014, 13:57:39) [MSC v.1800 64 bit (AMD64)]
paths:
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts\\addons_extern'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts\\addons'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts\\startup'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts\\modules'
'C:\\Python31'
'C:\\Python33'
'C:\\Python34'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\python34.zip'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\python\\DLLs'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\python\\lib'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\python'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\python\\lib\\site-packages'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts\\freestyle\\modules'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts\\addons\\modules'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts\\addons\\modules'
'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts\\addons_extern\\yafaray\\bin'

Directories:
============================================

scripts: ['D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts']
user scripts: 'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts'
pref scripts: None
datafiles: 'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\datafiles\\'
config: 'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\config\\'
scripts : 'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\scripts\\'
autosave: 'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\autosave\\'
tempdir: 'D:\\Blender\\blender-2.72b-windows64\\2.72\\temp\\blender_a04264\\'

Lastly, inside the \2.7\scripts directory I created a folder named \addons_extern where I put only your \yafaray folder and files, so there isn't any other YafaRay installation other than that. Before re-running Blender I delete all the __pycache__ folders inside the installation folder and below it to remove all Python cached data (just in case).

Ok guys, i double checked each dependency and found the following:

i sent the wrong libtiff.dll on the package. My libtiff build has jpeg lib linked statically so it doesn't depend on the dll and i mistakenly put a third party libtiff build. I was using that one at first but it had some issues with msvcrt12.dll (Blender and my build depend on it) so i rebuilt it from source.

I added the correct version to the package.

I left libpthread.dll that is not used on my build and depends on libstdc++6.dll, that's the source of the second error Harvester had.

I removed libpthread.dll from the loading list and the package.

I updated the version and can be downloaded on the same link as before.

I'm reposting the link here for convenience:

http://yafaray.dsvs.mx/yafaray.zip

This version should be now fully functional :D .

Please test textures, specially PNG, Tiff, and EXR files

Greetings from Mexico

Hi, Thanks for posting the update ...

Unfortunately while the error messages are gone - when I go to render the model Blender crashes. I have tried 2.72b and 2.71.

Any ideas would be appreciated - but not to worry ....

I did some tests as previously described, the only difference being that I downloaded the latest Blender build Hash: fb820c0, and NONE of the three builds (2.71, 2.72b, 2.72.1) generated any error message, and they all render fine. I tried using some JPG and HDR file and apart from a noticeably general degradation of responsiveness of Blender and Windows when loading the HDR image file in the Background (it was about 139MB in size), this Yafaray build seems to work fine under Windows 7 Pro, 64Bit operating system.

Of course, more tests might be needed but this seems to be a good starting point to catch up with the latest Blender development. Thank you.

Hi

I can't render anything, including the default Blender start file (cube).

In fact I cannot switch between the Render, Background, Material tabs, etc when YafaRay is selected as the renderer.

I will look further when I have a moment ...

Hi, I have been using my win7 install to test these latest builds as well, and the latest one fixed all error messages for me too. Everything seems normal including all image formats, but I just did some quick tests.

Thanks DarkTide :)

I have updated the download page. Thank you for the builds & testing. We still need volunteers to build JPG support on Linux64bits and 32bits for Windows and Linux.

Thanks for the build Darktide . However, it still makes my blender installation crash :(
I'm going to try to grab the console error to post it here.

That would be really helpfull.

Hello again.

The new yafaray works perfectly on my PC with Win 7. But on my Laptop with Win 8.1 Blender crashes every time I want to render with Yafaray.

Is there somthing I'm doing wrong, or is there a configuration I must change?
Has someone else this problem?

Thank you
