Howto - build yafaray-xml on Centos 6.2 64bit

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I built yafaray-xml so I could render yafaray xml files from the command line. I thought I'd post how I did it here, in case any other Centos / Red Hat Enterprise Linux users want to try it.

First, install all the dependencies
Code: Select all
yum install git cmake gcc-c++ zlib-devel libxml2-devel freetype-devel libjpeg-devel libtiff-devel libpng-devel OpenEXR-devel swig

Then get the latest git code.
Code: Select all
git clone https://github.com/YafaRay/Core.git

Cd into the directory and build it with qmake disabled (it's not available with yum).
Code: Select all
cd Core
cmake . -DWITH_QT=OFF
make

Install it, as root.
Code: Select all
make install

Run these commands as root.
Code: Select all
echo /usr/local/lib > /etc/ld.so.conf.d/yafaray.conf
ldconfig

Now you should be able to start yafaray renders from the command line with the yafaray-xml command.
Code: Select all
yafaray-xml scene.xml

Thanks! In case of Ubuntu - workflow is the same except package naming.

libxml2-dev libfreetype6-dev libjpeg-dev libtiff-dev libpng12-dev libopenexr-dev
