Official 012 beta3 - Blender 2.62 release

Hi there guys

We are going to release an official beta version of YafaRay for Blender. What does it mean?
It means that YafaRay core is still beta but the exporter is quite mature, and that we are going to release them officially on our downloads page as a Blender 2.62 ready to install add-on, so you can use it with a Blender 2.62 official release along Cycles.

We need you to test them a bit before they go to the downloads page. Report issues in this thread, thank you !!!

Note: Use it with Blender 2.62 official release. It won't work on Blender builts against current SVN because of the B-mesh commit.

How the addon is installed
Go to "User preferences" window > Addons section > "Install addon" header button. Enable the addon and voilà, Yafaray should appear in the render engines list. Video about the installation:

It works very well for me ( Blender 2.62-win7-64bits). Thx for this new beta and happy to see some good news like that !

Run perfect in Windows XP sp3 32 bits...Blender 2.62 Official Release.

Maybe I am way to noob, but I can't enable Yafaray.

There's no object named "MeshTexturePoly" in the scene.

@AlejandroSoto, you seem to have an older libstdc++ library (or none at all?). It requires >= 3.4.15, check what you have installed

I started it with no problem on Lubuntu 12.04 64 bit alpha. Though, it's not possible to adjust png sky texture in any way except for its rotation. No scale, no offset.

It would be good idea to specify the version of linux which are suitable such compilations.
For example, this version does not work well with Ubuntu 10.10. (32 bit) and requires additional packages.

Hello,

you are using are much newer version than Blender Release 2.62, the packages posted are released
only for the release builds of Blender 2.62, current SVN of Blender has bmesh merged and another
mesh Python API, therefore you are getting those errors in your log...

@Olaf, you are right. In the last week I tried a bunch of Blender builds because I had some problems with 2.61.4 and then messed the folders & versions a bit. The build I used in my previous post was r44280, with the official r44136 Yafaray works as supposed.

I'll work a bit with it in the coming days and report if I find any problems. Thanks!
