YafaRay official repositories

Post Sat Sep 19, 2009 8:12 pm

Hi yafdudes!
I'm posting what's going on YafaRay development.

First of all we moved YafaRay svn repository to reflect whole project improvement and to fix naming conventions.
Official "Build from sources" page will be updated as soon as possible because it shows older one started by lynx and stopped at YafaRay revision 348 (current 0.1.1).
You maybe already know yafaray is a library and it has an official exporter for blender to render blender scenes (others unofficial exporters are available, but I cannot say nothing about them...) so we have splitted now main repositories this way:
1. YafaRay binaries (lybrary and xml loader)
2. YafaRay blender exporter

I hope we will have more exporters in the near future ;)

Now, current official repository of YafaRay binaries/library is located at:
to download it:
Code: Select all
svn co svn:// yafaray

and current official Blender exporter is located at:
so update your local copy with a:
Code: Select all
svn co svn:// yafaray-blender

I will use this thread to post news about official mainline repository and what we are doing on.
Obviously svn will be sometimes unstable due to work made on it, so only experienced users should use it

So for experienced users able to compile ;D :

Current status revision
r397 | subcomandante | 2009-09-19 20:36:54 +0200(sab, 19 set 2009) | 11 lines

Backports from DarkTide branch
lot of compile warnings removed
added volume to xml export
optimizations using fast trigonometric replacements
some code cleanup (comments, old code, etc..)
completed YAF_SHADOW_BIAS usage
fixed photonmap error when skip black surface points
fixed some bsdf flags checks
bump map inverted
NOTE: FAST_MATH disabled because still experimental

r395 | DarkTide | 2009-09-15 09:03:07 +0200(mar, 15 set 2009) | 1 line

- Math Optimizations on cos, sin, tan, exp, ldexp, pow and sqrt and replaced abs and fabs by std::fabs throughout the code
r380 | DarkTide | 2009-09-08 20:59:50 +0200(mar, 08 set 2009) | 1 line

- Several warning clenup and first addition of YAF_SHADOW_BIAS macro
r379 | DarkTide | 2009-09-08 20:29:44 +0200(mar, 08 set 2009) | 1 line

- Changing mathOptimizations.h location from src/backgrounds/DarkSky to include/utilities

What we should expect from this?
Previous scenes should look pretty the same but a bit faster (5-10% it depends).

Any help testing this will be deeply appreciated.
