xml2

Post Fri Jul 03, 2009 8:03 pm

I have Ubuntu 9.04 64bit.
I have the latest svn(yafaray blender)
I have Blender 249a in my home dir /home/eric/Apps/blender/.
I just extracted the file there.
I have not altered the bashrc.
I ran scons and all of the libs are seen but one.
I have checked synaptic and I see libxml2 is installed.
I copied the installed files tab from the properties of synaptic here.
/.
/usr
/usr/share
/usr/share/doc
/usr/share/doc/libxml2
/usr/share/doc/libxml2/AUTHORS
/usr/share/doc/libxml2/README
/usr/share/doc/libxml2/README.Debian
/usr/share/doc/libxml2/copyright
/usr/share/doc/libxml2/changelog.gz
/usr/share/doc/libxml2/TODO.gz
/usr/share/doc/libxml2/NEWS.gz
/usr/share/doc/libxml2/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/lib
/usr/lib/libxml2.so.2.6.32
/usr/lib/libxml2.so.2
I do not know what is not working.

Thanks for your help.

Your problem description lacks some precision. On IRC we guessed that you probably lack the xml developer package (look for something with containing xml2 and -dev at the end).

You could also just install the Ubuntu 9.04 64bit RC3 package from the download page.

I am sorry about the lack of useful information.
I thought I had installed the pertinent dev files.
I just found the web page to download the rcs file you mentioned.
I installed it with gdebi which said curiously that all dependencies were satisfied.
Nothing was downloaded.
I copied yafaray_ui.py from the previous synaptic install of blender 248a.
I have done some basic testing and all seems well.
I put out two other posts.
I will close the loop so no one thinks I was left out in the cold but I am eager to continue learning how to use Yafaray, so it may be a few hours........
Thanks
