I just assigned some more materials and increased GI depth to 4. If the wheel were properly modeled i'd have added a nice materials for the tires too, a properly modeled underbody would get rid of some of the noise too. But that's no modeling contest, so i'll call that one finished for now...
Final rendertime is 4:26

HI Cipix, welcome! :D

I was very impressed with your Renault Scenic made with Blender Internal. I hope you can achieve comparable results with yafray

Good luck with your entry.

Thanks Samo. I will see what I can do with this car model, which is not as good as it could be.

Didn't yet get a really good render with this car, as I'm too lazy for the materials and stuff, but for another car I have rendered a Studio-lightprobe, that gives quite fast results, someone might want to try it out..

http://home.arcor.de/rinne88/cg/StudioProbe.hdr

it's 96kb and 2048x2048 pixels of size!

You can reduce the dots on the ground by increasing the "Prec" value in the Cache options and using refinement, or higher quality. An extremely low prec value should do it as well, I think, but I didn't test that as render times are too long, anyways!
Alternatively you can simply disable the Cache of course, that will totally avoid the dots at cost of render time!

Also make sure to use at least an emit Power of 2!

[EDIT] Just tested it on a plain plane out of curiosity, and heck, don't loose a low prec value with that image, you'll screw up your whole render![EDIT]
